Hand-in-Hand Project

During the Covid pandemic, HV residents began supporting soup kitchens in Macassar to help children who were no longer receiving school meals. Now, under our "Hand-in-Hand" initiative, we're proudly continuing this vital work. We provide frozen soups, sandwiches, eggs, fruit, vegetables, and dry goods like rice and oil to a soup kitchen that serves both children and adults twice a week. The needs are staggering, and as we become aware of them, we try to assist.
We've also contributed knitted beanies, blankets, and clothing, and recently bought two large industrial pots and gas for their stoves. The dedication of these local heroes is truly inspiring, and we’re thrilled to support their efforts. We gather donations every Monday from 10-11am at our clubhouse. It’s wonderful to see new faces each week as more residents learn about and support the project.
